Killin truly kicked off their New Year celebrations in style when a SOLD OUT McLaren Hall welcomed the mighty Skipinnish back to the stage on Friday 30th December 2016.

The boys played to a packed, well behaved crowd who created a memorable atmosphere that has not been felt in the McLaren Hall for a long time.

The evening ran on the 30th to avoid clashing with the existing Hogmanay firework celebrations and lantern walk, and the new year dance which runs on the first day of the new year. Together with other events running in the local bars – Jock the Box and Duncan in the Killin Hotel, and Ted Christopher in the Coach House, Killin has certainly built an enticing range of events to attract visitors to the area, and for locals to enjoy.

Skipinnish are keen to help celebrate New Year 2018, but we are currently awaiting confirmation that we have secured the hall booking. The group who currently run the new year dance (normally on 1st January each year) have the hall booked for three days, from 30th December through until their event, to allow their setup of the chairs and tables well before the dance rather than on the 31st December or 1st January.

Hopefully we will be able to confirm booking of the hall soon and the event will be able to continue. Keep your eyes on our Facebook page for updates!
